Job Summary

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II plays a vital role in the dispensing of medications and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fills and dispenses unit dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments
  • Triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the ADS
  • Ensures accurate and timely dispensing of medications
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • New Mexico Pharmacy Technician certification
  • Minimum of one year of pharmacy practice experience in an integrated health system
  • Current PTCB certification or 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Specialty certification in sterile compounding
  • Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)
