The Cities practice at BerlinRosen consists of over 70 skilled communications professionals who adopt a campaign-oriented approach to strategic messaging. Our team collaborates with forward-thinking clients on a range of issues such as urban development, affordable housing, and public policy advocacy. We strive to influence community and political support, drive policy changes, and elevate significant projects and brands.
Our clients include advocacy organizations and civic groups focused on creating equitable urban environments. We tackle pressing issues such as criminal justice reform, clean energy initiatives, and economic opportunity, advocating for vulnerable populations including workers, the homeless, and families in need.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a seasoned communications strategist with expertise in transportation, infrastructure, sustainability, or housing policy to join our team as an Account Manager. In this position, you will develop and implement strategies that engage media and stakeholders affected by various policies and projects. You will oversee daily account operations, manage junior staff, and maintain client relationships.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As an Account Manager on the Cities team, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the creation of comprehensive communications strategies in collaboration with team members.
- Facilitating regular, high-level communication with clients, addressing concerns, and providing solutions.
- Mentoring junior staff on accounts, enhancing the quality of deliverables through effective delegation and feedback.
- Generating innovative story ideas and media opportunities, even in the absence of news, to secure impactful coverage.
- Collaborating with senior leaders on resource allocation to ensure efficient team operations.
- Persistently pursuing media placements and exploring new avenues to achieve story success.
- Contributing to business development efforts, particularly in the fields of transportation and sustainability.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communications, media, or journalism, preferably within a PR agency.
- Exceptional storytelling abilities, with a portfolio of successful pitches and materials.
- At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role overseeing client teams.
- Proficient writing skills, adaptable to both informal and formal communication styles.
- Creative and strategic in media relations, with a knack for identifying new targets and angles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
- Highly organized and adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly identify emerging media opportunities and narratives.
Compensation Philosophy: BerlinRosen offers competitive salaries with a focus on retaining and developing talent. We regularly assess our compensation structure to ensure fairness across teams.
Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
