Mental Health Specialist with Addiction Treatment Experience

Community Medical Services (CMS) is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to assisting individuals recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Psychotherapist/Mental Health Specialist to join our team of professionals committed to delivering exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting, similar to a doctor's office or behavioral health clinic. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical evaluations, assessments, and ongoing treatment plans for patients receiving methadone treatment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with multi-cultural and low socio-economic individuals, be sensitive to the needs of those who are chemically dependent, and possess excellent communication skills to educate patients, families, staff, and community members on medication actions, side effects, and proper health and nutrition habits.
About the Role- Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as needed for continuum of care.
- Manage ongoing treatment, including signing medical orders, treatment plans, and documentation required by state and federal laws.
- Maintain responsibility for patients' case management, including chronic health problems, health conditions, and prescription medication management.
- Accurately complete same-day clinical documentation using required visit templates entered into the Electronic Health Record.
To thrive in this role, you must be licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment, hold CPR Certification, and First Aid Certification. Additionally, clinical experience in substance abuse rehabilitation and Opioid treatment is preferred, along with the ability to document into an electronic medical record.
You will also be responsible for collaborating with the Medical Director to ensure patients' healthcare needs are met and completing a valid fingerprint clearance and tuberculosis test.
