This role involves supporting the creation and refinement of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering schematics, and specifications for designated projects. The position encompasses research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in collaboration with the project team. You will apply engineering methodologies, protocols, and design standards for projects of varying scales and complexities. Your technical expertise will be essential in the execution and assessment of project designs. You will generate both conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to facilitate project implementation using contemporary drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. As a team member, your contributions will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB's clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned tasks within the designated timeline and allocated hours.
  • Prepare and/or modify specific sections of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
  • Develop project quantities and assist in formulating cost estimates.
  • Support engineering teams with the organization and administrative management of design files.
  • Independently execute various tasks and responsibilities, including research, data collection, field investigations, and project development and design.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles in your work.
  • Shows proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD or other software as necessary for job tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation.
  • Experience with WVDOH design.
