Job Summary
The Industrial Automation Specialist plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization at Ring Container Technologies. This position is responsible for participating in cross-functional teams dedicated to ongoing improvement and issue-solving efforts company-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Researches, validates, and executes projects aimed at cost reduction while emphasizing safety, quality, and sustainability.
- Supports the corporate Technical Services department in project development and deployment.
- Develops, integrates, and manages automated data collection systems for processes.
- Develops, integrates, and manages automated alert systems to notify the facility of equipment failures.
- Creates and installs automated devices.
- Oversees improvement initiatives related to OEE, SMED, and sustainability.
- Tracks equipment downtime and operator feedback, and leads efforts to identify the root causes of issues to minimize downtime and equipment variability.
- Assists with equipment diagnosis, maintenance, installation, conversion, and preventative maintenance as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must possess an Associate's degree in Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electro-Mechanics, or a relevant technical certification.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in SPC, plastics, electrical systems, hydraulics, mechanical, and pneumatic mechanisms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, along with exceptional organizational and analytical skills are essential.
- Proficient math skills are required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and utilize precision measuring tools is necessary.
- Leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills are vital for providing guidance to team members and colleagues from other departments.
