About the Role:
Avantor Sciences is seeking a Production Engineering Specialist to become a vital member of our Masterflex Manufacturing Engineering team.
This position is a full-time opportunity.
The Team:
Masterflex is at the forefront of the global fluidics sector, producing proprietary solutions for comprehensive fluid pathways.

We offer cutting-edge, interconnected, and compliant pumps, transfer tubing, flow measurement devices, controllers, bottle assemblies, and single-use components for a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and food & beverage.


Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, with a preference for Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience working with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, as well as electrical systems and digital electronics is essential.
Comprehensive understanding of electro-mechanical principles and digital electronics troubleshooting is required.
Familiarity with manufacturing electrical testing standards as mandated by regulatory bodies, including HiPot, line leakage, and ground resistance.
Experience in PLC programming is advantageous.
Proficient in CAD solid modeling for designing, developing, and documenting production tools and fixtures.
Competence in standard office software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data acquisition, and project management is required.

Collaboration Tools:
Experience with Microsoft Office is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Green Belt, or Continuous Improvement methodologies are highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support for existing products and facilitate the introduction of new products into manufacturing by assessing and implementing tooling and process communication requirements.

Develop, plan, and modify methods to enhance manufacturing processes. Review process equipment and assembly to identify quality improvements and propose actionable enhancements. Request quotes from suppliers for maintenance of existing equipment and procurement of new machinery.

Design and implement tooling and process communication requirements for updates to existing products to ensure quality and timely production.

Diagnose and resolve manufacturing challenges related to existing products through the engineering change (EC) process.

Support product development teams in transitioning from design to production by implementing tooling and process communication strategies for the successful and timely launch of new products.

Verify and validate new equipment before it is utilized in production.

Construct and/or repair internally developed testing equipment in the manufacturing environment.

Procure new and replacement tools for manufacturing operations.

Initiate ergonomic improvements related to equipment or tooling in the manufacturing setting.

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities upon approval.

Design, modify, and document necessary tooling and fixtures for assembly.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Travel requirements are minimal, less than 5%.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Familiarity with assembly manufacturing practices for electronic and mechanical products, including design for manufacturability.

Strong problem-solving abilities: the capacity to analyze issues methodically and implement practical solutions promptly.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, working efficiently under pressure and within deadlines.

Demonstrated strong work ethic and capability to excel in a rapidly evolving organization.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly and concisely across all organizational levels.
