Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified pharmacist to fill an interim role within a prominent hospital system in Pennsylvania. This opportunity is ideal for those with a strong background in hospital pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate all medication orders submitted by hospital personnel.
- Dispense medications while ensuring that the drug, dosage, frequency, and administration route are suitable.
- Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and laboratory results for any potential clinical issues before dispensing medications.
- Manage inventory control effectively.
- Provide drug information support to other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise pharmacy students and technicians in the preparation of medications to guarantee accuracy and safety in the medication use process.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan for continuity of care and discharge strategies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Pharmacist with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy, active and in good standing.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is required.
- Availability for full-time work is essential.
- BLS certification is preferred.
