In this dynamic position, you will engage in a range of HR activities, including but not limited to:
- Fostering a collaborative team environment while delivering exceptional, friendly, and responsive service to both employees and management.
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our personnel, operations, and organizational culture.
- Ensuring adherence to employment laws and regulations, such as FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, and EEO.
- Assisting in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, preparing offer letters, and conducting background checks, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding procedures, presenting necessary information and materials, and confirming the completion of all related tasks.
- Supporting employee relations initiatives and investigating any complaints that arise.
- Administering leave of absence requests in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Maintaining proficiency in our cloud-based HRIS (Oracle) and providing guidance to managers and employees on various HRIS modules.
- Assisting with benefits administration by keeping informed about company benefit plans and participating in the Open Enrollment process.
- Addressing unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims, and employment verification requests.
- Supporting management with routine reporting and data analysis.
- Interpreting and applying company policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Maintaining confidential electronic HR records for all staff members.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of team training sessions, morale-building events, and other activities.
- Performing additional HR-related duties and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
- Experience in labor relations is preferred.
- Proven experience working with HRIS systems, particularly cloud-based platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- A positive attitude and strong commitment to fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workload.
- Professional experience in the broadcasting industry is advantageous.
