About the Role

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our surgical team. As an RNFA, you will play a critical role in assisting surgeons during liver transplant surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during liver transplant surgeries, providing direct and indirect patient care duties.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Exhibit competencies in the care of patients undergoing liver transplant surgery, adapting behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate delivery of patient care, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • 5 years of Operating Room experience, with a focus on liver transplant surgery.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) and successful completion of an RNFA program.
