Ochsner Health is offering a $40,000 Sign On Incentive and Relocation Assistance for experienced RNFA for Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Service Lines.
This role assists the surgeon in performing surgery with optimal results for the patient, practicing under the direct supervision of the surgeon, and functions in either a circulator or scrub role. The RNFA provides patient care utilizing the Nursing Process, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members with assigned responsibilities, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate the delivery of plan of care.
Responsibilities- Performs direct and indirect patient care duties.
- Exhibits competencies in the care of and services provided to patients/customers in specific relation to their age and developmental stage with the supervision of the staff nurse.
- Communicates with the Surgeon on any special needs.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Education: Registered Nurse diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- RNFA Work Experience: 5 years of Operating Room experience required.
- Certifications: Current RN License in the state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) and successful completion of an RNFA program preferred.
