Position Overview

Role Summary: Registered Nurses (RNs) play a crucial role in enhancing health and preventing diseases. They provide expert nursing care to patients who are acutely ill, recovering, or dealing with chronic conditions, as per the directives of the Medical Staff. A significant number of RNs specialize as Medical Surgical nurses, focusing on comprehensive patient care. They are responsible for administering medications under physician supervision and meticulously documenting patient symptoms and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate patients and execute nursing duties tailored to the specific care standards for the patient's age and medical condition.
  2. Engage with Providers, Charge Nurses, and team members regarding any alterations in the patient's clinical status, including diagnostic results and symptomatology.
  3. React promptly and accurately to any changes in the patient's condition or treatment responses.
  4. Carry out general nursing responsibilities across various departments with appropriate oversight.
  5. Adhere to the Five Medication Rights to minimize the risk of medication errors.
  6. Develop a patient education plan based on identified learning needs and assess the effectiveness of the instruction, involving family or caregivers as necessary.
  7. Interact with patients, families, colleagues, and Providers with respect, dignity, and compassion.
  8. Recognize and address the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and their families or caregivers.
  9. Exhibit understanding of growth and development principles throughout the lifespan and possess the skills required to deliver age-appropriate care to the served patient population.
  10. Document patient care in accordance with established standards and policies.
  11. Participate in and facilitate the orientation of new personnel and engage in available in-service training.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; 12-hour shifts with rotating days. No on-call requirements.
