Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Summary:
HexaQuEST Global - Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to acutely ill, convalescing, and chronically ill patients. Your expertise will be essential in promoting good health and preventing illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients' age and diagnosis.
- Communicate with Providers, Charge Nurse, and care team members regarding changes in patients' clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patients' condition or response to treatment.
- Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
- Follow the Five Medication Rights to help reduce the potential for medication errors.
- Formulate a patient teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning; family or caregiver is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Interact with patients, families, co-workers, and Providers with respect, dignity, and empathy.
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families or caregivers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.
- Document patient care according to standards and policies.
- Participate in and support orientation of personnel and all available in-services.
Requirements:
- Must be currently active and licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, with no call.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
