Culinary Service Associate

Compensation: $16.00 Hourly

This role is an integral part of our mission-driven team at FSA, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through various community services.

Position Overview:

As a Culinary Service Associate, you will contribute to our commitment to quality service by assisting in meal preparation and ensuring a clean and compliant kitchen environment. This position is part-time and requires flexibility to work four to six hours per day, including occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of meals following established menus and recipes.
  • Evaluate meal requirements and ensure adequate supplies are available for preparation.
  • Conduct weekly inventory and submit reports punctually.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations by properly labeling opened food products.
  • Keep accurate nutrition records, including temperature control logs.
  • Provide food preparation and serving in accordance with program specifications.
  • Train volunteers on serving procedures and kitchen maintenance tasks.
  • Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Background in food service.
  • Current Food Handlers Permit.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with the public.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background clearance from relevant authorities.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Current DMV printout.
  • Completion of a physical exam and lift test.
  • Drug test clearance.
  • Immunizations for influenza, pertussis, measles, and a TB test.
