Senior Manager, State and Local Tax

At KPMG, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of tax professionals in providing expert advice to clients on state and local income tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of tax professionals in providing expert advice to clients on state and local income tax compliance.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize clients' state and local tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.
- Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
- Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets.
Qualifications:
- Minimum eight years of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field of study from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing.
- Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts.
- Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment.
- Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members.
- Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills.
