About the Position

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our English Department at Jacksonville State University. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach composition, writing studios, speech, and/or literature surveys, as well as other courses as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in English, including composition, writing studios, speech, and/or literature surveys
  • Conduct weekly office hours to meet with students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental initiatives
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a field appropriate to the discipline with at least 18 hours completed in graduate-level English courses
  • Experience with in-person, hybrid, and/or online instruction

  • Experience mentoring students
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations
