Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Lead to join our team at Owens Corning. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical maintenance department and ensuring the safe and effective operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical maintenance team, ensuring that all electrical systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant electrical equipment, including programmable controllers, air conditioning systems, and medium voltage equipment.
  • Process Control: Own and maintain all PLCs, panel views, drives, and software, ensuring that production and maintenance equipment is running smoothly.
  • Instrumentation and Controls: Lead the development and implementation of new instrumentation and control systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for electrical maintenance team members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring that the electrical maintenance team has the resources they need to perform their jobs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all electrical maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, meeting all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and instrumentation, with a strong background in PLC programming and process control.
  • Certifications: Certified Journeyman Electrician and ability to secure and maintain a forklift driver's license.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls; excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with regular attendance on site and the ability to work varying or rotating shifts. The employee will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, noise, and lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds.
