Job Summary

The Pastry Cook is a key member of the culinary team, responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastry products. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present high-quality pastry products, including desserts, breads, and pastries.
  • Lead and motivate the pastry team to achieve high standards of quality and productivity.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, working closely with the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pastry department and bakery areas.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with the pastry department, including labor, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in pastry and baking.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume preparation environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift/move/maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fully competent in all aspects of baking and pastry.
  • Ability to define a problem, collect data, establish facts, and form conclusions.
  • Ability to understand complex instructions and materials.
  • Ability to mentally process abstract ideas while delivering results.
Compensation

$20/hour
