- Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor statistical measures and behavioral indicators to evaluate the performance of Claims Representatives.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer service issues through effective communication and interaction.
- Employee Development: Implement ways to monitor and evaluate customer concerns, issues, satisfaction, and anticipate customer needs.
- Staff Management: Manage employee recruitment and development effectively.
- Training and Development: Identify and implement staff development and training needs to support an effective succession plan.
- Leadership: Lead meetings to communicate goals with direct reports and reinforce/monitor behavior that furthers technical and customer service performance expectations.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current industry developments and best practices.
- Committee Participation: Participate in committees and projects that support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Team Leadership: Has full supervisory responsibility for a team(s) of Claims Representatives.
- Performance Management: Monitor and report results and provide effective feedback.
- Coaching and Development: Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and training.
- Work Scheduling: Establish schedules, organize workflow, and delegate assignments.
- Employee Actions: Implement hiring and termination actions as well as salary-related issues.
- Education: Four (4) year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Managerial Courses: Completion of managerial courses preferred.
- Team Building Courses: Completion of team building courses desirable.
- Claims Handling Experience: Technical expertise as normally acquired through 5-10 years of claims handling experience necessary.
- Insurance Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of insurance codes and regulations, building codes and ordinances, as well as insurance contracts.
- Organizational Skills: Advanced organizational, planning, and delegation skills.
- Communication Skills: Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Advanced interpersonal skills.
- Leadership Ability: Ability to effectively lead change.
