Aphotic Restaurant, a distinguished establishment recognized with One Michelin Star, is in search of a committed individual to enhance our service team in the role of Host. While prior experience in fine dining is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Position Overview

The Host plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless service. Each evening, you will collaborate with the Maître d' and the General Manager to facilitate the planned seating arrangements. Together with the Maître d', you will be responsible for warmly welcoming guests and creating a memorable first impression of our service team. This position is classified as non-exempt and hourly, reporting directly to the General Manager, with comprehensive support from the Executive staff.

Expected Schedule

The anticipated working hours are Tuesday through Saturday, approximately from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, or as dictated by business needs.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Fulfillment of daily, weekly, and monthly sidework tasks assigned to your role.
  • Welcoming guests and bidding them farewell.
  • Seating guests appropriately.
  • Assisting prospective guests with reservation inquiries via phone and addressing any questions regarding our offerings.
  • Managing the host desk in the absence of the Maître d'.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and stocking of restrooms with necessary toiletries.

Qualifications

  • Reliability in punctuality and commitment to a five-day work week.
  • Familiarity with essential restaurant information (contact number, operational hours, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with all team members.
  • Experience with reservation systems like Tock is preferred, though not essential.
  • A vested interest in the restaurant's success at all times.

Compensation

The annual compensation includes an hourly wage along with anticipated gratuities. Aphotic Restaurant is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
