Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician Assistant to join our team at Charles River Laboratories, Inc.

As a Research Technician Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our preclinical research and development efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include caring for laboratory animals, performing clinical observations, collecting blood samples, administering drugs, and collecting and reporting data.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in animal care and handling, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for laboratory animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health
  • Perform clinical observations, including taking vital signs and recording data
  • Collect blood samples and administer drugs as required
  • Collect and report data, including laboratory results and animal behavior
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-6 months of experience in animal research and/or husbandry
  • Ability to handle common laboratory animal species
  • Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice regulations
