JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Under direct supervision, with some freedom in planning and executing work details, the apprentice must be capable of performing complex construction and maintenance tasks on both de-energized and energized transmission lines, as well as underground and overhead distribution systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Possess equivalent experience in relevant work, holding all qualifications of a Lineman 2nd Class.
- Execute all types of transformer installations; perform phasing and verify rotation on circuits; trace and resolve grounds and opens on series circuits.
- Conduct all classes of hot line tool operations.
- Utilize reeve blocks.
- Strategically plan and execute all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage, account for, and document all materials removed from and returned to inventory, while preparing necessary reports and records.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities when authorized.
- Guide and instruct assistants, as well as train new personnel.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Familiarity with the company's safety protocols, with the ability to administer approved resuscitation methods and provide practical first aid as needed.
- Knowledge of the location and operation of all firefighting equipment, including appropriate responses to electrical, oil, and other fire types.
- Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of electric transmission and distribution circuits and associated equipment, including Switchman certification.
- Have a thorough understanding of hot line tools and their proper applications.
- Be able to interpret and comprehend all wiring diagrams and blueprints related to transmission and distribution construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using necessary technology, including computers, tablets, and relevant software.
- Accurately identify and document all modifications to constructed jobs in accordance with company standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have full cognitive and physical capabilities.
- Possess strength and endurance suitable for demanding labor in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity are essential.

Additional Responsibilities:
As a provider of essential services, employees are expected to be available for additional hours, work in alternate locations, and/or undertake extra duties in response to storms, outages, emergencies, or other necessary situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees must be prepared to work extended hours, in various locations, and perform additional responsibilities as required by the company.
