Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of grounds personnel to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of university grounds and facilities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure the upkeep of university landscape and systems.
  • Assist in the planning and development of grounds maintenance projects, including the installation of new landscaping and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Campus Services Manager.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in grounds maintenance, including commercial landscape, park maintenance, or related work.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of LEED sustainable landscaping applications.
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and equipment operation.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
Work Environment

The Grounds Supervisor will work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and will be required to lift heavy objects and work at heights. The position requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
