Care for donors and ensure the safe collection of plasma at our state-of-the-art facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Care: Conduct thorough medical evaluations, assess donor suitability, and provide guidance on plasma donation.
- Medical Oversight: Collaborate with medical directors and physicians to address medical queries, provide information on donor suitability, and ensure adherence to medical protocols.
- Health Assessments: Perform physical assessments, review medical history, and evaluate laboratory test results to determine donor eligibility.
- Donor Education: Explain informed consent, immunization schedules, and potential risks to donors, ensuring they understand the plasma donation process.
- Emergency Response: Handle medical emergencies at the center, providing routine care and escalating situations as needed.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document donor data in our electronic system, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Center Operations: Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient supplies and adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- Education: Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medical training program.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare environment, with preference for experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment.
- Skills: Ability to make and analyze physical assessments, instruct donors and staff, and understand and apply medical protocols.
Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals and blood-borne pathogens.
