Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff, and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect the property of Fleet Landing and provide a safe and secure environment for residents and staff
  • Report all safety and security hazards and enforce safety and security policies and procedures
  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Fleet Landing
  • Assure that residents' rights are followed and respected
  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions
  • Monitor all access control points and secure and unsecure doors as needed
  • Patrol, inspect, and secure the property, apartments, homes, parking areas, and walkways
  • Notify the appropriate departments to assist residents or staff as needed
  • Assist Sales and Marketing in setting up golf carts, opening and securing model homes
  • Monitor and conduct duties at the Welcome Center, including monitoring the center fire panel, Emergency Call system, CCTV cameras, phone calls, and two-way radio
  • Conduct foot and vehicular patrols in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Enforce Fleet Landing rules and regulations with a customer service-oriented demeanor
  • Conduct the Time Keeper Guard Tour System
  • Notify the Safety and Security Supervisor and/or Manager of critical incidents
Requirements
  • Possess sufficient technical knowledge of computers to troubleshoot alarm signals and problems
  • Complete an approved CPR program and maintain proficiency
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and possess previous Safety and Security training and experience
  • Possess a genuine interest in caring for and serving older adults while participating as a team player
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Maintain a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment with Fleet Landing
Working Conditions

Lift, sit, walk, climb stairs, and stoop throughout the shift. Work in varying climatic and evening/day conditions. Lift and exert up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Courses in Safety and Security preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications required
Employment Variables

Shifts may be reassigned at will at the Supervisor/Manager's discretion and the needs of the community. May be required to perform administrative duties and work different shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage.
