Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist with Huntsville Hospital Health System, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality radiological services to patients. Under the direction of a radiologist, you will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CT/X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images/radiographs of designated body parts.
  • Position and immobilize patients for procedures, explaining the process to them.
  • Select appropriate technical factors for specific body parts and review images for quality and accuracy of positioning.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures, set up rooms properly, and practice principles of sterile technique.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients and practice personal radiation safety measures to minimize annual occupational exposure levels.
  • Administer contrast media as directed by radiologists, assess patients for possible sensitivity, and perform venipuncture as required.
  • Complete exams timely in PACS, verify written physician orders, and add additional study information in notes as needed.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate or equivalent, with some college preferable. They must have satisfactorily completed an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist 24-month training program and be eligible for ARRT registry. CT registry is preferred, and CPR certification is required.
