Position Overview:

The Orthopedic, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Dermatology, and Gastroenterology Department is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Associate Patient Care Coordinator.

This role involves adhering to established processes and protocols while collaborating with all members of the care team to uphold the organization's vision and mission, deliver exceptional customer service, and follow Lean methodologies.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator will support the team in achieving financial, clinical, and service objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and maintain accurate patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
  • Conduct insurance verifications on the day of service.
  • Manage medical records and confirm appointments.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Schedule referrals and follow-up services for patients in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve specific goals.
  • Stay informed about current medical requirements relevant to the role, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Demonstrate precision in document management and electronic charting.
  • Complete new clinical competencies as required.
Working Hours:

This position requires a commitment to a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 am and 5:00 pm.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service or healthcare-related experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a medical front office setting, including scheduling and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with EMR software.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
