Role Summary:

The External Communications Manager will spearhead the external communication strategies to enhance LG Energy Solution's interactions with media, joint venture partners, and various industry and governmental stakeholders within the North American region. This position will work closely with the global public relations strategy and collaborate with the external affairs and government relations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee corporate communications for the North America region, including the cultivation of media relationships and the coordination of communications with joint venture partners.
  • Prepare briefing documents and presentations for LGES leadership to facilitate engagement with key industry, media, and governmental figures.
  • Support community engagement initiatives for LGES facilities, which may involve travel to various sites.
  • Generate regional press materials, respond to media inquiries, and assist in managing crisis communication in alignment with global strategies.
  • Initiate and execute localized communication campaigns that resonate with LGES's global public relations objectives.
  • Ensure synchronized communication efforts in accordance with North America public relations plans.
  • Collaborate with public relations agencies to develop press releases, policy messaging, and oversee media outreach efforts.
  • Engage with industry organizations to promote and enhance LGES's business and policy positions.
  • Support external communication activities for North America leadership and participate in additional projects as directed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate public relations, public affairs, or communications is essential.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Korean is highly desirable.
  • Experience in digital and social media, branding, and corporate sponsorships is beneficial.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent LGES's industry leadership effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in the battery, automotive, or clean energy sectors are preferred.
  • A proactive and confident individual capable of managing a dynamic workload while accommodating global deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align company strengths with external opportunities.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and manage sensitive topics professionally.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
