Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for ensuring that facilities are properly maintained by performing light maintenance tasks. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work in a safe and efficient manner to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Maintain and repair machines and tools to within established specifications.
  • Identify hazardous machine conditions and secure equipment against use as required.
  • Maintain and repair building and equipment as required.
  • Order machinery/tool replacement parts, or purchase locally as required.
  • Read and understand all written instructions to maintain machinery/tools.
  • Listen to and understand all verbal instructions to maintain machinery/tools.
  • Repair machinery and equipment using a variety of machines and tools.
  • Perform required maintenance inspections using appropriate tools.
  • Record daily maintenance results on required forms.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Safely perform duties in a responsible manner in accordance with company policy including maintaining general work area cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet needs of the business.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 6 months related experience, maintenance preferred
  • Able to acquire forklift license within 6 months on job
  • Able to acquire scissor-lift license within 6 months on job
  • Valid driver's license

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, spatial differences, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
