Overview


The Advanced Practice Nurse operates within a patient-centered coordinated care framework, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation, collaboration, coaching, research, and ethical decision-making.

Collaborating with the healthcare team, the Advanced Practice Nurse assesses, plans, and implements care for patients with various health and safety needs.


The Physician Assistant plays a crucial role in monitoring and managing the daily healthcare requirements of patients under the guidance of a supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive medical assessments and treatments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Delivers clinical care with professionalism, acting as an advocate for patients.
  • Ensures clinical practices align with state regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
  • Develops and executes tailored care plans for patients.
  • Facilitates educational programs for patients and their families.
  • Evaluates and updates care protocols based on evidence-based practices.
  • Utilizes evidence and value-based approaches to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Administers medications safely and effectively to support recovery.
  • Initiates necessary laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as per regulations.
  • Demonstrates proficient clinical skills in implementing treatment plans.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintains organized and accurate documentation of patient interactions and care plans.
  • Engages in continuous professional development and education.
  • Provides culturally competent education tailored to patient needs.
  • Acts as a clinical resource for nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participates in the review and enhancement of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Encourages a collaborative work environment that aligns with organizational values.
  • Promotes innovation in clinical practices by integrating new knowledge.
  • Identifies and addresses ethical issues in patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • May be required to float to various clinic locations as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Education and Skills:
  1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  2. Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
  3. Maintains clinical competencies through ongoing education and practice.
  4. Experience in a relevant patient care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master’s Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
  2. A minimum of three years of professional experience.
  3. Strong organizational and computer skills.
  4. Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  5. Emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  1. New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License.
  2. Advanced Practice Nurse Certification.
  3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support Certification.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
  1. CPR Certification.
  2. Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
