Job Summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team on the 2nd shift. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on production and facility machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and pipe fitting systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility machinery and equipment
  • Utilize hand tools, testers, and shop power tools to accomplish tasks
  • Read and comprehend mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and fabrication prints, layouts, and sketches
  • Work with maintenance associates, engineers, technicians, production, and supervision to resolve equipment issues and repairs
  • Provide written documentation and reports as requested
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and communicate with other supervisors to coordinate repair activities
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Attend classes and seminars to update skills as required
  • Train or instruct others on technical issues and operation of equipment as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with two to three years of related experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, sketches, diagrams, and memos
  • Ability to create and write correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive relationships with company management and personnel
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to convert metric system measurements
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with variables
Work Environment

The work environment is a fast-paced manufacturing facility with exposed noise levels varying from quiet office levels to very high production manufacturing levels around machinery and equipment. The employee must be knowledgeable of and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
