Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a qualified Lead Ecologist specializing in Native Plant Habitat Restoration. This role is essential for managing our mitigation sites and ensuring the successful implementation of habitat restoration projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement comprehensive mitigation strategies while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project updates, needs, and resolutions.
  • Oversee the execution of mitigation plans and manage invasive species removal across various sites.
  • Maintain a valid pesticide applicator's license and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Train and supervise field teams in invasive species control techniques.
  • Develop and execute strategies for the restoration and management of native plant habitats.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in mitigation site restoration.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Ecology, Botany, or Natural Resource Management.
  • Strong knowledge of native plant ecosystems and invasive species management.
  • Proficient in the use of GIS software and GPS technology.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
