Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Lifespan, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing ultrasound procedures and producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Your expertise will be essential in assisting in diagnosis and treatment, while also providing exceptional patient care to individuals of all ages.

Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images
  • Provide appropriate patient care, including newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with licensed practitioners to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques
Requirements
  • One to three years of experience in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field
  • Knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, and patient transfers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Flexibility to work overtime and participate in on-call duties as needed
Education and Certification
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound training program or equivalent training
  • Current ARDMS registered certification with RDMS designation and/or current ARRT registered certification Sonography with RT(S) designation
  • Current BLS certification required
