Job Description and Duties

Covered California is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist III to join our Policy, Eligibility, and Research Division. This role will undertake novel studies and evaluations for Covered California's Research and Analytics program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement sophisticated scientific research studies of a highly developed scientific scope to evaluate Covered California's activities.
  • Provide complex technical guidance to inform the department's analytic agenda.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to inform policy decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication of research findings.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, data science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research and analysis, preferably in a government or public policy setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Working Conditions:
  • This position may be eligible for telework, with the amount of telework determined by the Department and based on Covered California's current telework policy.
