Job Summary

The Department of Public Health is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist III to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting public health performance monitoring, evaluating program effectiveness, and providing research-based information to support educational messages and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct public health performance monitoring to identify new and existing potential data sources to track sexual violence.
  • Disseminate findings through reports, presentations, and journal articles.
  • Plan, design, and implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of rape prevention practices and policies.
  • Provide research-based information to support educational messages and components.
  • Collaborate with professional staff from other State, local, or Federal agencies to conduct phases of a major scientific project or investigation.
Requirements
  • Mastery of scientific research methods, performance monitoring, evaluation methodologies, and scientific analysis of data using appropriate methods and software packages.
  • Ability to publish or present scientific research or investigations conducted to other public health experts and the community.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide interpretations of scientific research findings for use by others.
Working Conditions

This position may require 10% in-state and out-of-state travel, with overnight stays as needed to participate in off-site meetings.
