This is a senior-level position that serves as the highest-ranking health care authority within a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation adult institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the 24-hour and 7-days a week operation of one or two institutions and delivery of a multi-functional health care system.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and coordinate the operation of one or two institutions and delivery of a multi-functional health care system.
- Responsible for the administration of medical, mental health, dental, pharmacy, and medication management services.
- Serve as the Department's and Receiver's principal advisor on the institution-specific application of health care policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the community to enhance public safety and promote successful community reintegration through education, treatment, and active participation in rehabilitative and restorative justice programs.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department, other governmental agencies, health care partners, and communities.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in health care administration, with experience in managing multi-functional health care systems. The successful candidate will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
