Key Responsibilities
As a Philanthropic Engagement Specialist, you will play a vital role within the Donor Relations team. Your primary focus will be on nurturing and expanding relationships with both prospective and existing donors, particularly in the Great Lakes Region, predominantly in Michigan. This position entails soliciting and securing significant contributions of $25,000 and above, while also fostering mid-level donations ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to meet fundraising objectives. You will collaborate closely with the SpringHill Leadership Team to enhance the ministry's outreach.
Success Factors
- Identify and engage new potential donors who resonate with SpringHill's mission and vision.
- Devise and implement strategies to meet relationship-building and financial targets.
- Strengthen connections with individuals, foundations, and other potential donors in the area.
- Request contributions from current and prospective donors for major and mid-level gifts.
- Oversee a comprehensive portfolio of donor relationships, aiming for an annual fundraising goal of $500,000.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Vice President of Advancement.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Proficient computer skills are necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Preferred experience in soliciting major gifts or closing significant sales transactions.
- A self-motivated individual who is organized and capable of working independently for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel within the regions served by SpringHill Experiences.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with fundraising, particularly in a similar context to SpringHill.
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, requiring extensive computer use. Physical demands include walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting or standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
Travel Requirements
As part of the role, occasional overnight travel may be necessary for camp visits, recruitment events, retreats, and conferences. The travel requirement for this position is primarily on-site.
