We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Chenega Corporation. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for providing fire protection labor support within the NAVFAC Washington area of responsibility.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute projects with both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
- Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers and review other fire protection engineers' work for code compliance and constructability.
- Estimate design efforts and provide technical expertise in negotiations with architectural engineering firms and general contractors.
- Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFIs).
- Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers and review other fire protection engineers' work for code compliance and constructability.

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and PE required.
- 5+ years of experience in fire protection design and evaluation of new and existing facilities.
- Professional registration as a Licensed Fire Protection Engineer in a state or territory within the United States is required.
- Experience with the full gambit of Fire Protection responsibilities, including fire alarm and detection, water-based suppression systems, foam systems, clean agent systems, kitchen protection, and special hazard design.
- Final DoD Secret clearance.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA, ICC, and UFC codes.
- Experience in Construction Management/Scheduling and Cost-estimating.
- Competent to develop complete construction documents, including drawings and specifications, for new and renovation projects.
- Experience with field inspections and review of installed components.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and other design software.
- Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership.
- Oral and written communication skills must be advanced.
