We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Service Professional: Deaf Adult Healthcare Specialist to join our team at the State of North Carolina. Salary: $93,458 per year (estimated based on national averages and industry standards)
Job DescriptionThis Medical Service Professional will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to deaf adult patients, including medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and be able to effectively interact with patients who use American Sign Language (ASL) or other forms of sign language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care
- Communicate effectively with patients using ASL or other sign language modalities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina
- Experience working with deaf patients and/or individuals who use sign language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
