Position Summary

The Medicaid and Disability Caseworker will report directly to the Regional/Eligibility Manager and will be responsible for coordinating efforts to ensure that patients receive the necessary funding for healthcare services through Medicaid, Social Security, County Indigent, and other eligible programs. This role involves guiding patients and their families in completing necessary forms and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily eligibility screenings via phone or mail.
  • Refer patients to appropriate sponsorship programs.
  • File necessary applications and follow up on their status until a decision is made.
  • Gather and submit all required documentation.
  • Request and file hearings when necessary.
  • Maintain communication with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Assess patient information to determine eligibility for various programs.
  • Prepare and review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding the programs offered by HealthFund Solutions.
  • Manage caseload efficiently and maintain organized files.
  • Generate and communicate reports as required.
  • Ensure database accuracy and integrity.
  • Foster professional relationships with both HealthFund Solutions staff and hospital personnel.
  • Update insurance information in hospital systems as needed.
  • May require working evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Florida Medicaid eligibility criteria.
  • Experience with full-cycle Florida Medicaid applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Disability applications for both Medicaid and Social Security is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-directed with effective stress management abilities.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and active auto insurance is required.
  • Remote/Hybrid work may be required, necessitating a minimum internet speed of 75Mbps.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while entering data.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
  • Capacity to concentrate and remain focused on tasks for long durations.
