Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH) is a leading national engineering firm that designs, investigates, and rehabilitates structures, building enclosures, and materials. Our award-winning work encompasses building, energy, civil/infrastructure, and science/defense projects in the United States, Canada, and over thirty additional countries.

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Consultant to join our Building Technology division in the Oakland office. As a key member of our team, you will assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings
  • Collaborate with licensed engineers to develop innovative solutions for building envelope systems
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess building conditions and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement repair strategies to ensure building envelope integrity
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure project success
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in building technology, construction, or a related field
  • Strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems and materials
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights and travel to multiple job sites
