The Role of a Busser
As a busser at Metro Diner, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the diner. This includes cleaning tables, chairs, and floors, as well as restocking paper goods and maintaining the cleanliness of bathrooms. You will work closely with our servers and management team to ensure that every guest has a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Constantly move throughout the diner and patio to clean tables, chairs, and floors
- Work quietly, quickly, and thoroughly with sanitation being your top priority
- Maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms and restock paper goods
- Fill bus tubs gently to avoid disturbing nearby guests or damaging dishes
- Maintain a clean dish area by stacking plates and glassware
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience as a busser in a fast-paced work environment
- Working experience communicating with hosts and managers via headsets to effectively manage the dining room turns
- Understanding of when to help servers pre-bus tables
- Observational skills to monitor adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
- Commitment to ensuring that outside of the diner is clean and free of debris
