KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mine Engineering Intern within our Aggregate Construction Materials division, you will be immersed in the operational aspects of the aggregates industry, gaining valuable insights and developing essential skills:

• Practical Engagement: Participate in the operational procedures, maintenance tasks, and product knowledge at our aggregate facilities. You will be actively involved in understanding and enhancing mechanical, maintenance, and production workflows.
• Analytical Contributions: Gather and evaluate data, identify process relationships, and assist in formulating strategies for ongoing initiatives.
• Operational Experience: Acquire practical knowledge of daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling processes.
• Equipment Oversight: Collaborate with operators to understand the maintenance and functioning of heavy mining machinery, ensuring optimal efficiency and performance.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with various teams such as geology, engineering, and safety to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations.
• Safety Compliance: Support the implementation and monitoring of safety measures and protocols to ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Skill Utilization: Apply a range of skills and knowledge in daily operations, working together to achieve organizational objectives.
• Presentation to Leadership: At the conclusion of your internship, you will present your insights and contributions to our leadership team.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are seeking motivated students who meet the following qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mine Engineering or a related field.
• Strong academic background with a solid grasp of engineering concepts.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Schedule: This is an onsite position requiring a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour shift each day.
• Environment: You will be working in various aggregate settings, where you may encounter moving machinery, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Transportation: Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from work locations.
• Travel: Throughout the internship, there may be opportunities to travel to other sites for tours, shadowing experiences, or intern-related events.
