We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a full range of screening and diagnostic imaging procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Position and compress patients accurately for procedures and fully image all breast tissue.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by shielding and correctly selecting exposure factors.
- Evaluate images for compliance with protocol, image density, contrast, detail, positioning, compression, and absence of image artifact.
- Document imaging activities accurately and consistently in accordance with ACR and federal mandates.
- Engage in problem-solving, crisis management, and systems implementation with physicians, nursing, technical, and support personnel throughout the hospital.
- Completion of a two-year American Medical Association-approved course in Radiologic Technology or other accredited and approved medical imaging program.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
- Certification in Mammography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist within 18 months of hire.
- ARRT Certification in Mammography upon hire.
