Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is dedicated to managing a comprehensive suite of employee benefits programs. These programs encompass retirement schemes, leave entitlements, and wellness initiatives. The incumbent will also oversee the administration of fundamental benefit offerings such as health, life, and disability insurance. This position plays a crucial role in the annual renewal process, coordinating open enrollment, and facilitating ongoing communications regarding employee benefits, as well as recognition initiatives. The individual will provide essential insights and recommendations to the Chief Human Resources & Diversity Officer, aiding in informed decision-making aimed at fostering a positive workplace environment for all employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership as a strategic partner in the long-term planning of employee benefits, recognition, and reward systems.
  • Oversee and manage all activities related to employee benefits, including partnerships with benefit providers, insurance agents, and retirement consultants.
  • Administer a variety of employee benefits programs, including retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance options such as health, life, and disability.
  • Manage company leave policies, including but not limited to FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Workers Compensation, ADA, and Personal Leave of Absences.
  • Work alongside managers and supervisors to implement recognition and reward programs (e.g., service awards, peer recognition) in a timely and impactful manner, ensuring employees feel valued.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and market trends to maintain competitive and compliant benefit programs. Propose enhancements to ensure the sustainability of these programs.
  • Prepare and manage program budgets to ensure the financial viability and effectiveness of the benefits offered.
  • Act as the Agency Drug and Alcohol Monitor, overseeing the administration of the associated program.
  • Organize and promote employee wellness activities, campaigns, and special events.
  • Conduct annual administration and reporting for OSHA, Workers Compensation, and BLS.
  • Maintain accurate benefits data within the HRIS system by processing changes, generating reports, and assisting employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, psychology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in human resources and benefits administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of human resources management principles and applicable regulatory requirements, including ADA, FMLA, and workers compensation.
  • Exhibit high standards of professionalism, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce.
  • Capability to establish program objectives and manage multiple initiatives independently.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with HR databases and reporting tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The position operates in an environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, or extreme temperatures. There may be moderate exposure to unpleasant conditions, including dust, noise, temperature variations, and chemicals while visiting operational facilities. Adherence to safety policies and procedures is required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role is primarily sedentary, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
