Role Summary:
The Operating Room Surgical Technologist exhibits foundational knowledge and skills in the scrub role, essential for providing support during surgical operations. Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, preparing necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies for assigned surgical cases; scrubbing in and passing instruments and equipment during procedures; managing case preparation and breakdown post-surgery; and setting up the operating room and required supplies for upcoming schedules. Availability for on-call duties as per unit requirements is expected. Additional tasks may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Onboarding Process:
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug test.
Qualifications:
Required: Completion of a surgical technician program as mandated by state regulations.
Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a surgical technician.
Certifications:
Required: BLS certification.
Preferred: Surgical Technology Certification.
