The Loan Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in supporting designated commercial loan officers and managing associated loan portfolios. This position involves conducting thorough assessments of the creditworthiness of both new loan applicants and existing clients. The Portfolio Manager collaborates with loan officers to gather essential information from applicants, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of all parties involved to assist the bank in making informed credit decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive analyses of assigned loan portfolios promptly.
- Evaluate business and personal financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns utilizing the bank's software tools.
- Underwrite new transactions and renewals effectively.
- Enhance analysis with research from diverse sources, including the bank's data systems and market databases, to assess client, competitor, and industry risks.
- Proactively monitor financial covenant requirements within the assigned portfolio.
- Assist loan officers with client credit modification requests and the annual renewal process, ensuring timely tracking of client financial reporting requirements.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial sector.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and underwriting experience are essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of various financial statement types and formats.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis for annual reviews.
- Ability to justify and defend decisions regarding recommended credit structures and analyses.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in underwriting for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans is highly desirable.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Capability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
- Ability to engage and exchange information with all organizational levels.
- Ability to observe and identify relevant data.
- Willingness to travel as required.
