Job Title: Financial Specialist II

Western Growers Family of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, managing accounts receivable, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and verify financial transactions, including group and individual billing, ACH processes, and cash receipt processing.
  • Maintain and balance group and individual accounts receivable, including delinquency processing and terminations.
  • Manage receipt of group admin fees and process vendor payments.
  • Invoice for third-party administrator claims processing and manage receipt and application of claims funding.
  • Perform month-end financials and deliver to Accounting by the fifth business day of the month.
  • Manage and maintain Bank of America lockbox, ACH/Wire programs, and retiree invoicing and receivable management programs.
  • Maintain FSA programs and provide back-up resource for invoice generation, daily cash application, and other staff financial duties.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field, plus four years' experience working in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of end-user office software, including calendaring, word-processing, spreadsheet, and email.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including modern business communications, formatting of professional letters, and phone etiquette.
  • Customer service-oriented and ability to analyze and resolve technical problems and/or client inquiries.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted healthcare eligibility and billing procedures, as well as HIPAA, COBRA, Cal-COBRA, MEWA, and ERISA regulations.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by management and based on department needs and compliance.
