About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Airworthiness Assurance Specialist to join our team at Mount Indie. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the airworthiness of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Airworthiness Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant airworthiness standards, including AFPD 62-6 and MIL-HDBK-516C, across all phases of product development and production.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of our products and users.
- System Safety Engineering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system safety solutions that meet or exceed industry standards.
- Technical Document Reviews: Review and provide feedback on technical documents, including hazard analyses, safety proposals, and other related materials, to ensure they meet our quality and safety standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including program managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuing Education and Training: Stay up-to-date with the latest airworthiness regulations, industry trends, and best practices to maintain your expertise and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline (e.g., aerospace, mechanical, electrical) or equivalent experience.
- At least 12 years of experience in airworthiness assurance, systems engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years in the DoD.
- Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations, including AFPD 62-6 and MIL-HDBK-516C.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
