Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The Registrar is a critical member of the AHMC Healthcare team, responsible for ensuring seamless patient admissions and registrations processes. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and verify patient demographic and billing information, ensuring 98% or greater accuracy.
- Complete registrations in a timely manner, utilizing knowledge of departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
- Understand and comply with federal and state regulations, including EMTALA, HIPAA, and OSHPD reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear understanding of patient information and registration processes.
- Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance providers, including HMOs, PPOs, and Managed Care plans.
- Troubleshoot insurance issues and communicate with clinical staff to ensure accurate patient information.
- Work collaboratively with staff to achieve revenue targets and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other related duties as required, including maintaining accurate records and supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
