About the Division
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery comprises board-certified clinical faculty dedicated to the education of medical students and surgical residents in the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery. The division is committed to advancing both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures through basic and translational research.
Key Responsibilities
- The Chief will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and work in collaboration with the Chair on strategies, benchmarks, and metrics to drive excellent clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and advancements in benchmarks and/or clinical research.
- The Department of Surgery is comprised of ten Divisions consisting of over 60 specialized full-time faculty members, some of whom are national leaders in their fields. Stony Brook Surgical Associates offers inpatient and outpatient care in a wide breadth of surgical specialties serving the region.
- The Division of Plastic Surgery has ample opportunity for research collaborations with established connections to leading research institutions and graduate programs, offering unlimited opportunities for collegial interaction.
- Stony Brook's plastic surgeons have been recognized for their excellence by selection for inclusion in prestigious guides and directories, representing the top 1% of physicians in the nation.
- Qualified applicants will have an M.D./D.O. Degree, retain American Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, be eligible for a medical licensure, and hold an academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
